According to the results of international surveys, since 2000 the level of internet usage in the world has grown thrice. Its average indicator reaches 22%. It means that almost 1.5 billion inhabitants are users of global network. The most active internet users live in North America (74%). Australia occupies the second position (60%) and European countries come third (48%).

ACT constantly studies the indicator of internet usage in our capital. It is worth noting that during the previous two years the positive dynamics maintained stable. Since the beginning of 2008 the number of Tbilisi residents, who use internet at home, at the office or at any other place, has doubled.

As for other big Georgian cities, the survey results show that Batumi residents are also active users of internet. Almost every third of Batumi inhabitants apply the newest technology.  Kutaisi is relatively passive in this regard- only 20% use internet. The average indicator of other cities equals 15%.

In general, 18-25 years old men are the most active internet users.

In October 2008, based on representative sampling, 1800 residents of  Tbilisi and other big Georgian cities aged 18 and above were interviewed. Data statistic error does not exceed 2,4%.
